This page is created to introduce myself to my readers.
My name is Lisa Marie Crookshanks. I have a wonderful husband of 19 years this November and we have two beautiful children. Our first, Joey, will turn 16 in September. This is a stage in parenthood that I could put off if possible. Our second child, Hannah, will turn 10 next March. My children and family are the love of my life.
My family and I are very active in our church. My husband and I have been the youth leaders for about 16 years. I have always been involved with children. The Lord helped me reach a dream and become a teacher.
I began my college journey a year after high school only to quit when I decided to get married. 19 years after graduating high-school, I received my diploma at Concord University, finally a lifelong dream to become a teacher. I was hired for my first teaching job on September 21, 2009. I teach 5th grade and will return to this same job in the fall. I know that this is what I was meant to be. I love it! Never give up on your dreams, they can come true even if it takes 19 years.
